Over the course of Fortnite’s life, there have been hundreds of error messages that have popped up to ruin a player’s day. These error messages usually bar players from accessing the Fortnite servers or stop them from playing the game how they want. One recent error message to arise and give Fortnite players fits is Error Code 93. This particular error message stops players from joining another person’s party, which can be quite troublesome for those who enjoy playing Duos or Squads with their friends.
As of right now, Error Code 93 is still present in Fortnite and there’s no concrete method to stop it from appearing. However, there are a few fixes players can try if they see the message pop up.
Fix Fortnite Error Code 93
We’ll list four fixes that you can attempt upon seeing Error Code 93. There’s no guarantee these fixes will work, but they give you the best chance of getting around the error and partying up with your friends.
Restart your game and router
This is the easiest method to attempt. Sometimes, a simple restart of your game or your internet will fix any error code in Fortnite. The same goes for Error Code 93. First, close out and then relaunch Fortnite. If you still get the error code, close the game again and then restart your internet router. Once you’re back online, relaunch the game.
Make sure the party is set to “Public”
Perhaps before restarting your game and router, you’ll want to make sure that the party you’re trying to join is set to “Public.” If it’s not, then you won’t be able to join it just by clicking on your friend’s name and pressing “join party.” You or a friend can set the party to Public by pressing the “friends” icon in the top-left corner of the screen. Then, click on the settings cog next to your name and change the party mode from Private to Public.
Join friends through Epic Games Launcher
This method is only for those on PC. Instead of trying to join your friends through Fortnite itself, open up the Epic Games Launcher, navigate to your friends list, and try to join a friend’s party from there. You can do this by clicking on their name and pressing “join party.”
Check the Fortnite server status
The last fix we have is to ensure that the Fortnite servers are acting as they should. You can check the server status by going to DownDetector or FortniteStatus on Twitter and seeing if there are any mass reports of server outages. If there are, then that’s likely what’s causing your inability to join someone’s party. If the servers are up and running and you’re still seeing Error Code 93, then you’ll have to simply keep trying to join a Fortnite party.
